Traveling Kitties Need A Cat Carrier

If you are traveling with your pet, a cat carrier is necessity. Although you can find expensive carriers, you can also find models made of cardboard that are very affordable.  Discover why you need to keep kitty confined when you are traveling.

First, safety is a major concern.  If your pet is loose, a quick stop could cause him or her to be injured when slammed against a seat or worse, completely ejected from the car in an accident.  Your animal could also strike you causing you to be hurt, too. A cat running loose could prove a distraction from your driving.  For example, the feline could panic and need to be restrained while you are driving down the road.  Unrestrained animals can also make their way under your feet and cause braking or acceleration issues.  You may like having your pet in your lap, but remember that a deployed airbag could quickly end your pet’s life.

Comfort is also a concern.  Felines like the security of their own enclosed space, particularly when they are in unfamiliar situations.  They will be more comfortable and possibly sleep on longer trips.  They won’t be as likely to spot a dog or another evil that will send them into a panic.  

Another issue is messes.  Some felines can get stressed out when in the car.  This could cause vomiting, urinating or bowel movements.  You will have an easier time cleaning up this type of mess from a pet carrier rather than carpeting in your cat.  You are likely to not have as much fur flying around your vehicle, too.

What to do with the cat when you arrive at your destination is also an issue.  You may have difficulty carrying kitty if you are going somewhere unpopular like the vet.  He or she could also get away from you and end up lost.  

Are you transporting multiple pets?  Separate carriers for each one are best.  Fights won’t be an issue then.  They also won’t get hurt from striking each other in case of an accident.

You need a  cat carrier to assure your pet’s safety as well as comfort and to reduce messes while you are traveling.  Your trip will also be safer for the humans in the car.
