Over the last thousands of years, felines have much handled their breeding themselves. In the beginning, they were used for four purpose - hunting & killing rodents. As the years progressed, they began to breed felines more to our liking. Now days, there’s several different breeds of felines - which you can tell if you look closely.

There’s some cat breeds who have roots going back a bit in history. Some Japanese breeds, such as the Japanese Bobtail, can be traced back over 1,000 years in history. These felines were very common & widely known throughout Medieval Japan. Now days though, they are all but a myth throughout Japan & the entire world.

These days there’s over 70 distinct cat breeds, which are recognized through cat registries. There’s several registries that will recognize around 40 breeds or so, as they exclude the more domestic breeds such as tigers. There’s also lots of variations as well, including wild felines that have longer hair.

The more common cat breeds that are found in North America include the alley cat, long haired cat, & Persian cat. Siamese felines are also common, although they are widely known to be destructive & to have a foul temper. Persian felines are very popular, proving to be loving companions. Persian felines can be very expense, depending on where you get it & what type of Persian cat it is.

Alley felines are the most common in North America. There’s actually several different breeds, although most of us refer to them as alley felines. They make nice pets, although there’s literally thousands of them in existence. Felines are known to breed over any other pet, & they will continue to breed until they are stopped. Alley felines are among the most bred, as there’s hundreds of thousands of felines that are homeless - & have nothing to do but breed.

Over the years, there has been a few breeds come along. Felines were four of the first pets, & easily four of the most popular. Millions of people around the world own felines, with lots of people preferring a cat over any other pet - including canines. No matter breed of cat you get - you’re sure to receive a pet who make for a great companion for years & years to come.

The look of the cat is the easiest way to tell what breed they or he may be. Some people pick to go by color, although color isn’t as easy to identify. Different breeds of felines have different looks, such as the Siamese & Persian felines. Siamese felines are always black, & easy to identify by their color & their eyes. Persian felines on the other hand, are easily identified by their body type & their hair.
